Combining my passion for health and visual arts
Photography and visual media are powerful communication tools that can drive health change. I am excited to pursue a path that allows me to skillfully use visual media and other forms of art to create health policy change.
After completing my undergraduate degree in global health and practicing related freelance work for years, I have officially begun my candidacy for an MSPH in Health Communication and Health Education at Johns Hopkins, and am set to graduate May 2025.
Read below if you're curious about the things I do besides taking pictures!
Aside from Photography I...
Research
I lead a community participatory research project with recipients of Baltimore's Guaranteed Income (GI) pilot. Together, we're creating a 'Policy Picture Book' that showcases participants' photography. Our goal is to illustrate to policymakers the valuable health impacts of GI through storytelling.
Write and edit
I aim to take scientific research and data and translate it into accessible and informative formats for broad audiences. Currently, I practice this by drafting newsletters, reports and presentations for the Welch Center for Prevention, Epidemiology and Clinical Research.
Produce Video
I've worked as an assistant camera, production assistant, and associate producer on several WebMD.com sets. I've also written scripts and edited videos that are published on the WebMD site today.
